The Perkasie Fire Company is hosting its second annual Blood Drive in honor of the Memory of Fire Police Captain Ron Dietrich. It will be held on February 20, 2012 between 1:30 pm and 7:30 pm. Ron Dietrich was a long time member of the Perkasie Fire Company and an active member of the community including being a Crossing Guard, an active Church member, and by playing the piano at nursing homes. He always looked out for the safety of the children in the community. Even the dogs in the community knew him as he always carried dog treats for them. A Blood Drive was one of his last wishes before he passed away.
Please come out and donate for this worthy cause. The use of the Blood of one human being to save the life of another is one of the world’s greatest medical achievements. Thousands of people are alive today - happy children, young mothers, accident victims, the elderly who have survived major operations because blood and blood components were available to combat many types of diseases and other medical problems. Blood donations are needed daily in every community throughout the country. Every minute, more than 25 units of blood or specialized blood components are transfused. That’s nearly 37,000 units each and every day. So come on out and help save a life. There will be plenty of light refreshments after your donation.
To sign up, go to http://www.redcrossblood.org/make-donation and enter our sponsor code 14590. Or you can call (800) Give Life. The need is constant. The gratification is instant. Give blood, you’ll be glad you did.
